Job summary

Mercy Health Ballarat is seeking a casual Lifestyle Assistant to join our well-established lifestyle team at Mercy Place Ballarat. You will support residents with daily activities, help run the lifestyle program, and contribute to compassionate patient-centred care.

We’re looking for resilience, empathy, and a flexible approach, with evidence of experience in similar roles and appropriate Australian working rights. A recent police check is required.

Qualifications

• Recent police check (evidence required).
• Experience in a similar role.
• Passport, birth certificate and/or working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with lifestyle program activities on a daily basis.

About the opportunity

Our well established and successful lifestyle team are looking for that last person to finish off the group. We need someone who is working towards their qualification or is an experienced and qualified Lifestyle Assistant. Our residents love their lifestyle program activities, so you will be joining a team who makes a difference to vulnerable members of society each and every day.

What you'll bring

You're resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to be flexible, to adapt well to change and be able to adeptly problem solve.
• Preferable memory support unit experience and understanding of the lifestyle needs of residents who are cognitively impaired.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective resident emotional and spiritual care and management.
• The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
