Job summary

Belgravia Leisure operates the Woodford Swimming Pool in Woodford, QLD. We seek enthusiastic lifeguards for casual summer shifts to oversee daily pool operations and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all patrons.

Ideal candidates demonstrate a passion for water safety, excellent communication, and a commitment to customer service. Flexibility for mornings, evenings and weekends is required, with training and ongoing safety support provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and customer service focus.
• Strong awareness of public safety and OHS requirements for pool facilities.
• Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR certification.
• Blue Card is required.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
• Pool Operations Certificate is advantageous.
• Pool Plant operator qualification is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day pool operations in a safe, welcoming environment.
• Ensure patron safety and respond to incidents promptly.
• Assist with customer service and program delivery during shifts.
• Communicate effectively with diverse patrons and staff.
• Support training and safety checks as part of the role.

The Centre

Belgravia Leisure in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council, are proud to be the management company of the Woodford Swimming Pool in Woodford.

Our facility features a solar heated 6 lane 25m swimming pool, and two shallow toddler pools with ample lawn area surrounding the area. We also offer swimming and water safety lessons, Junior Squads, birthday parties and Aqua Aerobics classes.

The Role

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable and friendly lifeguards to join the team on a casual basis to join the team for the summer season. Our lifeguards will be responsible for the Day to Day Pool Operations within our facility and ensure that all areas both in and surrounding the pools is a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

You will have a passion for safety around the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure our patrons safely enjoy their visit every time.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.

You will have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends. Hours may increase during peak seasons, public holidays and school holidays.

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• An understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the team
• Current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate
• Blue card
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Previous experience and success in a comparable role is not essential but highly regarded
• Current Pool Operations Certificate is not essential but highly regarded

Pool Plant operators' qualification not necessary but well regarded. We are willing to train in roles for future growth.
