Job summary

Belgravia Leisure's Deception Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre is seeking enthusiastic lifeguards for the upcoming seasonal period from Sept 2026 to Apr 2027. Casual contracts with potential for ongoing employment. Join a team focused on water safety, customer service, and community wellbeing, with opportunities for development.

You will monitor pool areas, ensure safety, and assist with day-to-day operations while delivering a positive patron experience.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid (Level 2).
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Blue Card required.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
• Public safety and OH&S knowledge applicable to a facility.
• Experience is valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pool operations and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment.
• Monitor patrons, enforce safety rules, and respond to incidents.
• Assist with basic facility operations and customer service.

This is a great opportunity for qualified lifeguards who value water safety, love working with people, who want to keep the community safe in our facilities.

The Role

In preparation for the upcoming seasonal period of Sept 2026 to April 2027, we are wanting to hire a large number of Lifeguards on casual contracts at Deception Bay Pool, which is part of the Moreton Bay Region. Often these roles lead to on-going employment with Belgravia Leisure.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable and friendly lifeguards to join the team. Our lifeguards will be responsible for the day to day pool operations within our facility and ensure that all areas both in and surrounding our pools is a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

You will have a passion for safety around the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensure our patrons safely enjoy their visit every time.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• An understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the team
• Current First Aid (Level 2)
• Current CPR Certificate
• Blue Card
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Previous experience and success in a comparable role is not essential but highly regarded
• Current Pool Operations Certificate is not essential but highly regarded
