Job summary

Redland City Council’s Bay Islands Aquatic Centre seeks two lifeguards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all patrons on Russell Island. You’ll supervise pool users, provide first aid, and support daily operations with a focus on safety and outstanding service.

The role offers a flexible casual roster, local community impact, and opportunities to grow your skills in aquatic safety, rescue techniques, and facility maintenance while working in a beautiful Redlands Coast location.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Pool Lifeguard Certificate (RLSSA) or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide First Aid and CPR qualifications are required.
• Paid Blue Card (or ability to obtain) is required.
• Experience in aquatic environments and lifeguarding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service and creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all aquatic centre patrons.
• Actively supervising pool users and ensuring compliance with facility rules and safety requirements.
• Responding to emergency situations, including performing rescues, first aid, and resuscitation where required.
• Assisting with pool testing, cleaning, and general facility maintenance to ensure high standards of safety and presentation.
• Completing opening and closing procedures and supporting the day-to-day operation of the aquatic centre.
• Participating in training and maintaining the skills and fitness required to perform lifeguarding duties effectively.
