Job summary

GRID Motorcycles on the Gold Coast is seeking a highly skilled and motivated full-time Licensed Motorcycle Mechanic to join our independent, premier showroom and service centre.

You will perform servicing, diagnostics, and PDIs for new units, and install custom parts across premium brands including Royal Enfield, Zero and Stark. This role emphasises quality, safety and customer service for a respected local business.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Australian Motorcycle Mechanic License.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional mechanic experience in a fast-paced workshop.
• Proven ability to manage parts inventory and strategic ordering processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers.
• Interest in motorcycling lifestyle and emerging EV technologies is desirable.
• Own tools are an advantage; other tools provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive service, diagnostic, and repair work on a diverse fleet of motorcycles.
• Execute Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) for newly sold units, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures using specialized tools.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop in line with WHS regulations.
• Manage workshop inventory and track consumables and equipment.
• Oversee procurement and allocation of OEM and custom parts for service customers and builds.
• Consolidate loose or unallocated parts and process returns correctly.
• Communicate with customers regarding service status and provide cost estimates and explanations.
• Document all customer communications and technical findings in dealer systems.

This role is essential for maintaining our reputation for excellence in motorcycle servicing. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from routine maintenance and complex repairs to Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and custom parts installations for a variety of premium brands including Royal Enfield, Zero and Stark.

Key responsibilities

Perform comprehensive service, diagnostic, and repair work on a diverse fleet of motorcycles

Execute Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) for newly sold units, ensuring every vehicle meets safety and performance standards before delivery

Conduct diagnostic procedures using specialized tools

Maintain a safe, clean, and highly organized workshop environment in compliance with WHS regulations

Manage workshop inventory, including the accurate tracking of consumable stock and workshop equipment

Oversee the procurement and allocation of both OEM and custom parts for existing service customers and new vehicle builds

Consolidate loose or unallocated parts and ensure returned items are stored or processed correctly

Proactively communicate with customers regarding the status of their service or repair work

Provide transparent and accurate cost estimations and technical explanations for required repairs

Document all customer communications and technical findings clearly in the relevant dealership management systems

About you

Must hold a valid Australian Motorcycle Mechanic License

Minimum of 2 years of professional mechanic experience in a fast-paced workshop environment

Proven ability to manage parts inventory and strategic ordering processes

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues for retail customers

A genuine interest in the motorcycling lifestyle and emerging electric vehicle technologies is highly desirable
