Knocked Up Fab & Mechanical – Coffs Harbour NSW is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to service, repair and diagnose heavy diesel vehicles from a mobile workshop. You will support customers with fault diagnosis and breakdown responses across diverse equipment and client sites.

The role offers variety and independence, enabling you to apply your skills across heavy trucks, mobile plant and hydraulic systems in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Current mechanic licence in good standing.
• HR licence or willingness to obtain.
• White card or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with heavy diesel equipment, trucks, mobile/fixed plant or hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with practical repair ability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Our licensed mechanical team, operating under a Motor Vehicle Repairer Licence, specialises in repairs, modifications, and servicing of heavy diesel vehicles and trucks, mobile and fixed plant, and hydraulic systems. Built around safety, reliability, and maximising asset performance, we ensure your equipment operates efficiently with minimal downtime, even in the most demanding industrial environments.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Heavy Diesel Mechanic.

You will be working from a mobile workshop, taking responsibility for and supporting our customers with servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis and breakdown response.

If you prefer the variety, independence and problem-solving that mobile work offers, rather than being tied solely to a workshop, this position provides a strong opportunity to apply your experience across a broad range of equipment and client environments.

Skills and Experience

• Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
• Licenced Mechanic
• HR Licence (or willingness to obtain)

• Demonstrated experience working on heavy diesel equipment, trucks, mobile plant, fixed plant and/or hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the practical ability to identify issues and complete effective repairs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings.
