The Burger Centre is seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Worker to join their close-knit team onsite in Randwick. This permanent part-time opportunity involves supporting and conducting stimulating small group activities for clients, including those living with dementia, through discussion groups, gentle exercise, crafts, reminiscing and music programs.

Qualifications include Cert IV in Leisure & Health or related, or Cert III in Aged Care, with degree consideration.

Qualificações

• Qualifications in Diversional Therapy / Certificate IV in Leisure & Health, Art, Music or Drama / Certificate III in Aged Care; bachelor’s degree in social science, social work, psychology or related Allied Health will also be considered
• Demonstrated knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
• Knowledge of issues facing older people and dementia
• Experience in working with older people, program planning and facilitation
• Experience with people living with dementia or cognitive impairment
• Specialist Leisure and Lifestyle skills
• Understanding needs of older people from CALD backgrounds
• Knowledge of EEO and WHS
• Experience working as part of a team
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Strong computer skills: MS Office, Teams, Zoom, internet, laptops, multimedia, client management systems

Responsabilidades

• Deliver and facilitate small group activities for older adults including dementia clients
• Plan, coordinate and run diverse leisure and lifestyle programs
• Support clients to engage in discussion groups, gentle exercise, crafts, reminiscence, outings and music programs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet client needs
• Adapt activities for CALD backgrounds and dementia considerations
• Maintain client records using management systems and standard software
• Ensure safety, compliance and quality standards in activities

This opportunity would suit someone seeking employment on a permanent part-time basis. As a Leisure & Lifestyle Worker, you will support and conduct a range of stimulating small group activities suitable for the group which may include people living with dementia. Such activities may include discussion groups, gentle exercise, craft, reminiscence programs, outings as well as music related programs.

• Qualifications in Diversional Therapy / Certificate IV in Leisure & Health/Art, Music or Drama/ Certificate III in Aged Care; bachelor’s degree in social science, social work, psychology or related Allied Health will also be considered
• Demonstrated knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
• Knowledge of the common physical, psychological and social issues affecting older people and people living with dementia
• Experience in working with older people, program planning and facilitation
• Experience working with people living with dementia or other cognitive impairment
• Specialist skills pertaining to Leisure and Lifestyle
• An understanding of the needs of older people from CALD backgrounds
• Working knowledge of EEO and WHS
• Experience in working as part of a team
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Strong computer knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, use of internet, laptops, Multimedia devices, social media and client management systems
