Job summary

Axiom is seeking an interim commercial lawyer to join its in-house legal team in Australia. You will provide practical, commercially focused legal support across consumer business functions, partnering closely with Marketing, PR and Social Media teams.

With a minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably in FMCG or consumer products, you will manage multiple matters and work collaboratively with the business in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ post-qualification experience, gained in-house or in a commercial law firm.
• Experience in FMCG, consumer products, advertising and/or marketing.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with appropriate supervision.
• Collaborative, hands-on approach and partnering with the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, day-to-day commercial legal advice to Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media Teams and other business stakeholders.
• Advise on consumer and competition law issues arising from marketing, promotional and commercial initiatives.
• Support commercial and sales contracting, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer, sponsorship, supplier and other commercial agreements.
• Manage a high-volume workload efficiently, prioritising competing demands and providing timely advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with the broader Legal team and escalate material or complex issues where appropriate.
• Provide ad hoc legal advice and support across the business as required.

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a commercial lawyer to join the in-house legal team of a leading food and beverage company. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business and wants to gain further in-house experience in a fast-paced environment.

Working as part of a collaborative Legal team, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal support across a broad consumer business. You will partner closely with Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media Teams.
