Sigma Executive is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join a regulatory organisation in Sydney. The role reports to the Assistant Director and provides legal, governance and compliance support across a range of regulatory and operational matters.

You will join a collaborative and highly experienced team, delivering high-quality advice and stakeholder outcomes. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years PAE in regulatory/government environments with admission as an Australian legal

About You

The ideal candidate will have around 3-5+ years' PAE and enjoy working in a small, collaborative environment. This role would suit someone seeking a blend of legal advisory work, governance and operational involvement.

You will also have:

• Admission as an Australian legal practitioner and eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate.
• Experience ideally within a regulatory, governance, compliance, professional services or government environment.
• Strong understanding of administrative law, statutory interpretation and regulatory frameworks, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in new areas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and practically.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and key deadlines.
• A professional, collaborative approach and interest in governance, compliance and public‑interest outcomes.

What's on Offer

This is a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid working model (3 days in office), based in Sydney CBD. The role can be hired as a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel so the salary range is $130,000 - $165,000 + Super + a modest Bonus.
