Job summary

LOD (Lawyers On Demand) is partnering with a globally recognised leader in retail and consumer products to engage an experienced Legal Counsel for a 12-month assignment in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will provide strategic, commercially minded legal guidance to key stakeholders, draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, and support product launches, marketing, privacy and IP matters across functions.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years PQE, from top/mid-tier firms or in-house.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience supporting consumer-facing, retail, FMCG, technology, or multinational organisations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice to key stakeholders.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Support business initiatives and projects across functions (marketing, product, privacy, IP).
• Advise on marketing, consumer, privacy, IP and competition law.

We're partnering with a globally recognised leader in the retail and consumer products sector to engage an experienced Legal Counsel for a 12-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to join a high-performing in-house legal team and work closely with stakeholders across a dynamic and fast paced business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic and commercially focused legal advice to key business stakeholders.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Supporting business initiatives, product launches and strategic projects across multiple functions.
• Advising on marketing, consumer, e-commerce, privacy, intellectual property and competition law matters.

To join us, you will:

• Have between 3-6 years PQE ideally gained from top or mid-tier law firms or in-house environments.
• Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Have experience supporting consumer-facing, retail, FMCG, technology or multinational organisations.
• Be available to commence at short notice or immediately.
