Job summary

Shift is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its in-house team in Australia. You will draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including supplier and merchant contracts, and provide practical, timely legal advice across the business.

In addition to broad commercial work, you will manage collections, workouts, caveats and debt recovery matters, and support loan, security and trade finance documentation. A hybrid work setup from North Sydney is offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years PQE from a mid–top tier firm or financial services
• Australian practising certificate required
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities
• Banking, lending or insolvency exposure highly regarded
• Commercial mindset with willingness to learn a specialist area

About the Role:

Join Shift's in house legal team for a dynamic, hands-on role where your work truly makes an impact. As Legal Counsel, you'll split your time between broad commercial contracts and advisory work, and our specialist recoveries practice covering collections, workouts, caveats, and debt recovery.
