Job summary

ACAP University College, part of Navitas, invites applications for a Level B Counselling Lecturer. You will teach students to become ethical, real-world practitioners and engage in scholarly activities while contributing to the counselling programs across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will collaborate with senior staff, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in professional development to support student success and academic excellence.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Counselling and relevant teaching experience.
• Eligibility for ACA or PACFA membership.
• Experience teaching counselling to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, student support and mentorship.
• Ability to coordinate units and supervise clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire students in tutorials, workshops, and clinical sessions.
• Develop and review units and course materials in collaboration with senior staff.
• Contribute to scholarly research projects to advance counselling knowledge.
• Engage in formal professional development to stay current with teaching practices.
• Participate in discipline meetings to shape counselling education.
• Advise students on study skills and academic progression.

Qualifications

It is essentialyou can demonstrate:

• Postgraduate qualification in Counselling (AQF 8+ or equivalent).
• Significant counselling industry experience and tertiary teaching experience.
• Eligibility for ACA or PACFA membership.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, student support, and professional mentorship.
• Capacity to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate counselling programs.
• Ability to teach a broad range of counselling and psychotherapy subjects.
• Commitment to ongoing professional and academic development.
• Demonstrated ability to support the professional formation of future counsellors through the integration of theory, practice, ethics, self-reflection, and cultural responsiveness.
