Job summary

You will deliver courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise fieldwork, and contribute to curriculum development, using digital-based approaches and virtual training to enhance learning.

Qualifications

• PhD in geology, with specialisation in igneous petrology, Earth materials and/or magmatic processes.
• knowledge of igneous petrology and igneous geochemistry, and familiarity with metamorphic processes.
• skills spanning light and electron microscopy, mineral chemistry, thermobarometry and phase equilibrium application, or skills in other relevant analytical or interpretive methods.
• holds a current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• deliver high-quality teaching in geology and cross-disciplinary settings across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels, in classroom, field and laboratory environments
• design and deliver engaging educational programs and learning experiences that respond to student needs and meet curriculum requirements
• lead and undertake fieldwork, including the collection of field data to enrich teaching
• build partnerships with industry, academic and government organisations to advance teaching, learning and research outcomes
• develop a research profile appropriate to career stage and opportunity, evidenced through high-quality publications and success in attracting external research funding
• contribute effectively to administrative and service activities across the School
• foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture
• support the strategic direction of the School, Faculty and University
