Job summary

La Trobe University is seeking a Level B Teaching-Focused academic to coordinate and teach across anatomy subjects at La Trobe Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus. The role supports applied learning for allied health practice and ensures alignment with professional standards.

You will contribute to curriculum design, delivery, and review, mentor sessional staff, and engage in ongoing development of the Anatomy discipline. Strong teaching credentials are essential.

About the Role

In this role, you will coordinate and teach across multiple anatomy subjects, supporting cohesive curriculum delivery and high-quality student learning. You may also contribute to physiology teaching as required. Your teaching will support applied learning relevant to allied health practice and align with professional standards and accreditation requirements.

You will contribute to excellence in learning and teaching through evidence-based and scholarly practice, and take an active role in subject and course design, delivery, and review. The role includes mentoring sessional and early-career staff, supporting continuous improvement, and contributing to the operational and strategic development of the Anatomy discipline.

Skills and knowledge required for the position

• A PhD or equivalent accreditation/standing recognised by the University and profession as appropriate to the discipline of Anatomy or a closely aligned field.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and subject coordination across face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, evidenced by strong student feedback, peer review, teaching awards, or other credible indicators of teaching quality.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate engaging, evidence-informed and clinically relevant curriculum, including contributions to subject and/or course redevelopment.
• Demonstrated engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and/or clinical research, with a clear trajectory of developing expertise in these areas.
