Job summary

The NSW Department of Education seeks a School Learning Support Officer to assist students with diverse learning needs, including disability, under teacher supervision. Based at Figtree Public School within the Support Unit, the position requires working with a team to deliver outcomes for students and to support wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check clearance is required.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training including first aid.
• Administration of Medications training will be provided as needed.
• Health support training will be provided based on student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the supervision of a teacher.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide support for streams/settings such as pre-school, vision support, hearing support and bilingual contexts.
