Job summary

Australian Christian College – Swan Hill campus is seeking a part-time Learning Support Officer to assist teachers and students in a Christian Education environment. The role is 2 days per week, Mondays and Fridays 8:15am–3:15pm, starting ASAP and finishing end of term 4.

About the Role

An opportunity exists to join an authentic, committed, Christian team, in supporting teachers and students within a Christian Education environment and community.

This temporary part time position (2 days per week) is due to start as soon as possible and runs until the end of term 4. Scheduled days / hours are Mondays and Fridays 8.15 - 3.15pm.

Typical LSO Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual or small-group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Support students with disability, learning difficulties, ASD, ADHD and other diverse learning needs.
  • Assist students to access and participate in classroom learning.

Core Responsibilities & Duties
  • Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards;
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school’s child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
  • Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
  • Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for Schools;
  • Ensure students’ views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives;
  • Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  • Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.
Qualifications
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia

  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check
  • References from previous child-connected roles
