Job summary

Camberwell High School in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs seeks a Learning Specialist with expert curriculum knowledge and strong leadership in teaching practice. The role focuses on modelling excellence in classrooms, delivering demonstration lessons and mentoring teachers to improve student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.

You will collaborate with school leaders to implement whole-school improvement strategies, lead professional learning communities and use data to inform teaching.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching.
• Ability to implement high-impact teaching strategies and monitor impact on learning growth.
• Ability to use data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with leadership to define highly effective teacher practice.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies for curriculum planning and delivery.
• Support professional learning through observation, feedback and peer collaboration.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to improve practice.
• Advise on context, processes and strategies shaping professional learning.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and coaching peers.
• Model data-informed teaching approaches to improve student outcomes.
• Promote school-wide professional learning structures and PLCs.
• Seek feedback to reflect on and improve one’s own practice.
