Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of curriculum planning and pedagogy
• Confident working collaboratively with teachers to support professional growth
• Ability to translate curriculum requirements into practical classroom application
• Ability to teach Year 11 and 12 QCAA Literature and General English syllabuses
• Ability to teach Middle School English
• Accredited teacher with Lutheran Education Australia, desirable
• Accredited teacher with Industry experiences, desirable
• Willingness to assist with student holistic care (GEL – Grow, Empower, Learn), Pastoral Care lessons, Chapel supervision, Inter-School sporting teams or recreational activities
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary curriculum issues in education
• Awareness of National curriculum imperatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive curriculum development and contemporary pedagogies to promote rigorous student-centred learning and improved outcomes.
• Oversee curriculum delivery, student management and staff performance while fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Maintain awareness of contemporary education trends, leading transformation and change management.

Job description

Grace Lutheran College invites applicants who will contribute to our Christian ethos to lead and teach in our English and Languages department and improve student learning within this area, with specialist skills and abilities in the subject area.

This role will take the title of Learning Lead - English & Languages. Our Learning Leads are experienced, innovative, and passionate middle school leaders.The Learning Lead has a primary leadership responsibility for the leading and management of a team of teachers in delivering exceptional, individualized, educational experiences within one or more learning areas for our students. This includes initiatives with curriculum development and contemporary pedagogies to promote rigorous student-centred learning that leads to improved learning outcomes for our students.

Along with leadership, curriculum delivery management and student management, it is expected that our Leading Lead will have an ongoing awareness of contemporary education trends, leading transformation and change management, management of staff, balancing time pressures/deadlines, and the promotion of a positive workplace culture.

Position type:Permanent Full time

Anticipated Commencement Date: Term 1, 2027 (or by negotiation)

About You
