Job summary

Queen of Peace Parish Primary School, part of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, seeks a Learning Diversity Leader to lead inclusive practice and oversee programs and resources. You will work with the Principal, Deputy Principal - Student Engagement and the broader community to support diverse learners and implement MTSS and NCCD requirements.

• Postgraduate studies relevant to learning diversity completed or underway
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and school mission
• Knowledge of NCCD requirements
• Experience with MTSS is advantageous
• Postgraduate qualifications in Special/Inclusive Education encouraged

Role Description/Criteria

The Learning Diversity Leader reports directly to the Principal and the Deputy Principal - Student Engagement, is a member of the Leadership Team and oversees programs and resources. The successful applicant will be a dynamic educator who holds a strong understanding of students with diverse learning needs and a collaborative team player who works with all stakeholders, within our school and throughout the broader school community. Key requirements

• Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, together with relevant teaching qualifications and post-graduate studies (completed or underway) relevant to learning diversity.
• Commitment to Queen of Peace’s mission, values, and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
• A strong commitment to neuroaffirming practices and a positive, strengths-based mindset are essential. We welcome applicants who prioritise creating an inclusive environment for all learners.
• Demonstrated expertise or a strong foundation in positive behaviour support and classroom management strategies is essential, with a welcoming approach that promotes positive student engagement and well-being.
• Demonstrated understanding of NCCD requirements is essential.
• Postgraduate qualifications or additional study in Special Education/ Inclusive Education are highly regarded. Applications from educators eager to learn and grow in this area are welcomed.
• Knowledge or experience of MTSS is advantageous.
