Job summary

City of Kingston Council is seeking a Learning & Development Officer to support delivery of learning programs, events and systems across Council. You will coordinate training, communications, reporting and access to learning platforms while building strong stakeholder relationships.

The role emphasises customer service, ownership, and growth within Organisational Development, with hybrid work options and opportunities to progress your career.

A bit about the role

We are looking for a Learning & Development Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support the delivery of learning and development programs, systems and initiatives across Council, working closely with employees and stakeholders to coordinate training, events, communications, reporting and learning systems. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys building relationships, delivering great customer service, taking ownership and making things happen. With a strong focus on learning, growth and development, this role offers excellent opportunities to build your experience and progress your career in Organisational Development.

What you’ll deliver
  • Coordinate and deliver learning and development programs, workshops, events and initiatives across Council.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide responsive, customer-focused support on learning and development matters.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of learning systems, reporting, communications and data insights.
  • Contribute to leadership development, workforce capability and organisational development projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for employees.
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong relationship‑building, customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and get things done.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, systems or projects, ideally within learning and development, people and culture or a related field.
  • Relevant experience and demonstrated capability in administration, project coordination, communication, learning and development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
