A leading independent school in Melbourne is seeking passionate Learn to Swim Instructors to provide high-quality swim lessons and promote a positive aquatic environment. Candidates should have significant experience, relevant qualifications, and strong communication skills. This casual position offers flexible working hours, primarily during school hours. Join a supportive team committed to child safety and wellbeing.
Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. We aim to give every student in our care the very best possible education in order to prepare them for life beyond school. We are a learning community, which encourages staff, students, past students and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and to identify themselves with its values: Learning, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Optimism.
Our School campus is located in the leafy inner east suburb of Canterbury, on land originally inhabited by the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and blends period architecture with exciting contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities.
We are seeking passionate and driven Learn to Swim Instructors, possessing a mature approach to fostering a safe and supportive aquatic environment, to join our Aquatics department.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality learn to swim lessons and fostering a positive, educational swimming culture, in conjunction with the Learn to Swim Team. Proven experience as a learn to swim teacher is essential, along with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. An instructor with an Infants extension course qualification (SISCAQU027 or equivalent), emphasizing water safety through play based learning would be considered favourably.
This is a casual role, commencing in Term 4, 2025. We are seeking availability predominantly during school hours with some hours offered after school to accommodate program needs.
Our out of hours Learn To Swim programs operate Monday to Thursday from 3:15 pm to 6:30 pm, and Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. There is an opportunity to conduct daytime classes during school hours, catering for both Camberwell Grammar students and local school groups.
Qualifications:
At Camberwell Grammar we have a vision of learning which encompasses all aspects of life – not just the intellectual, but also the social, cultural, physical and spiritual. Our programs are deliberately structured to educate the whole student – not just the mind. We hope to educate committed citizens of the future, interested and passionate about the problems facing our world and with the skills necessary to do something about them.
You will play a pivotal role in this vision.
Camberwell Grammar School is unwavering in its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in its care. We are dedicated to creating a secure, inclusive, and respectful environment where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
Child Safety and Wellbeing Responsibilities
Camberwell Grammar School invites candidates who share our commitment to child safety and wellbeing to contribute to our community and help every student reach their full potential.
