Job summary

Thales is seeking a Business Improvement Manager to lead cross-functional improvement initiatives on the Above Water Systems portfolio at Woolloomooloo/Garden Island. You will drive strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement and a culture of continuous improvement to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes.

On day one, you’ll coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, benchmark performance and act as SME across transformation

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in business, engineering, project management, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to deliver commercial and financial outcomes for improvement initiatives.
• Experience fostering a constructive culture and high-performing teams.
• Experience leading business transformations in a large company.
• Proficiency with collaborative tools like SharePoint.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera Core Model.

Our Above Water Systems team designs and engineers commercial and naval ships - as well as providing in-service support capabilities. Your Role

Located centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, as the Business Improvement Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and managing business improvement projects within the AWS portfolio. Your role will encompass strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The primary focus will be on delivering operational excellence while ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness are prioritized to meet customer needs and business objectives.

• Lead business improvement initiatives within the AWS portfolio.
