Job summary

APEX is seeking an experienced Leading Hand (Fixing Carpenter) to run Perth-based retail fitout projects. You’ll oversee site operations, coordinate trades and materials, and keep the project on schedule with hands-on leadership. No FIFO; home every night on Perth Metro sites.

Start with a 4-month engagement and potential long-term work. Must be a licensed Carpenter with proven ability to manage a small-to-medium retail fitout from start to finish.

You'll be running your own retail fitout site independently, coordinating trades and materials, and keeping the project moving to schedule without someone standing over you. Site locations are Perth Metro-based, so no FIFO and no camp life - you're home every night. This role starts with a solid 4-month run, and strong performers will move straight onto the next project in the pipeline, with genuine long-term work on offer well beyond the initial engagement.
About the role:

• $70-75/hr, based on experience
• Site locations to be confirmed - various Perth Metro retail fitout projects - Karrinyup & Morley
• Long term employment opportunity once this project finishes.

What you'll need:

• Licensed Carpenter with experience across commercial/retail environments
• Comfortable stepping into a Leading Hand capacity, running a project independently from start to finish
• Able to complete site inductions as required per centre (details discussed on confirmation)
• Standard tools and PPE as required by the project and managing contractor
