Job summary

Habitat Creations is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to manage a field crew in our Yarragon depot, delivering land rehabilitation, revegetation and integrated pest plant and animal programs across Gippsland and South East Melbourne projects. You'll lead a crew, ensure high-quality field workmanship, mentor team members, and collaborate with councils, water authorities and developers.

A current licence and relevant tickets are required; stable, family-owned company with real progression

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of field crews in natural resource management or environmental conservation.
• Solid hands-on experience and a strong work ethic.
• A genuine leader who earns crew respect and client trust.
• Current driver’s licence; relevant tickets (ACUP, First Aid, White Card).
• Can-do attitude and commitment to doing the work properly.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew delivering land rehabilitation and revegetation works and integrated pest plant and animal programs.
• Oversee field execution across projects for councils, water authorities, developers and state agencies.
• Mentor and develop team members; ensure safe, high-quality field work.
• Collaborate with management to plan and deliver projects from our Yarragon depot.

Ready to make a move in your Natural Resource Management career? We're looking for an experienced environmental crew leader to join Victoria's only fully integrated, cross-functional environmental landscaping company.

Habitat Creations has secured a strong pipeline of natural environment maintenance and remediation projects across Melbourne's South East and Gippsland through 2027 and beyond. We need experienced people like you to help us deliver them.

Leading Hand — Environment Team

Lead a crew delivering land rehabilitation and revegetation works, and integrated pest plant and animal programs for leading local councils, water authorities, greenfield developers and state government agencies driving Victoria's biodiversity and environmental programs. Play a meaningful role in protecting and restoring Victoria’s high-value natural areas.

• Proven experience leading field crews in natural resource management / environmental conservation. If you don’t have the leadership experience just yet, you do have experience in the industry and you’re ready to step up.
• Solid hands-on experience and a strong work ethic.
• A genuine leader — someone your crew respects, your clients trust, and your peers want to work alongside
• Current driver's licence; relevant tickets and qualifications (ACUP, First Aid, White Card)
• A can-do attitude and a commitment to doing the work properly
