Short Marine Pty Ltd in Mosman is seeking a Boat Repairer – Leading Hand to join our team at Fergusons Marina. You will perform repairs, maintenance and refinishing across vessels while coordinating day-to-day slipway operations.

This role requires hands-on marine expertise, practical skills and a proactive approach to safety and quality. The successful candidate will lead junior staff and contribute to a growing marine business.

Qualifications

• Experienced marine professional who delivers high-quality vessel repairs and maintenance.
• Capable of working independently and with a team to develop skills.
• Strong emphasis on safety, attention to detail and timely completion.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fibreglass and gelcoat repairs, including grinding, laminating, fairing, finishing, colour matching, sanding and polishing.
• Install fit-out components and deck hardware; align shafts and running gear.
• Coordinate work, maintain quality standards and guide junior staff.
• Plan jobs, estimate labour and materials and prepare repair quotations.
