Job summary

Ceduna Area School in Ceduna, South Australia, is seeking a Leader Band B-1 – Coordinator for Secondary Aboriginal Education. The role oversees the Secondary Aboriginal Education team and the school-wide Aboriginal program, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for ATSI students.

The position is a 1.0 FTE leadership role with tenure from 22 January 2027 to 22 January 2028, based at Ceduna Area School, Far West locality. Applications close 18/09/2026 11:30PM.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Secondary Aboriginal Education team and the whole school Aboriginal Team with the Primary Aboriginal Education Co-Ordinator including induction of new staff, performance development, budget and resource management to ensure safe and appropriate teaching and learning practices.
• Monitor the development and implementation of One Plans for ATSI students in the Secondary Years to monitor progress and engagement in learning, behaviour, attendance and achievement.
• Develop strong partnerships with parents, staff, Aboriginal Education team members and community agencies.
• Leads the implementation and monitoring of the SAASTA programme for senior Aboriginal Students (potentially teaching the courses).

Position Descriptor

Ceduna Area School is situated on the Thevenard Peninsula overlooking Murat Bay. Ceduna enjoys access to fantastic beaches for camping, fishing and surfing. The town has two supermarkets that receive regular fresh supplies and shopping precinct that boasts stores that sell sporting, electrical & clothing goods. The town has a well-resourced, large rural medical practice and hospital. Medical supplies are available from the two chemists. There are a number of different sports on offer through the of sporting organisations in Ceduna. The school caters for reception to year 12 students from within Ceduna and neighbouring towns
