Job summary

2xm in Queensland is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily workshop operations, lead a small technical team and drive performance across safety, quality, productivity and customer service. This hands-on leadership role starts on a casual basis with the intention to transition to permanent after 2–3 months, offering a stable pathway and the opportunity to shape how work is delivered.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Engineering, Fitting and Machining.
• At least three years' experience in a similar supervisory role within an engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, refurbishment or workshop environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical or trades-based personnel.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, workplace health and safety and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience coordinating workflow, inventory and workshop resources.
• Experience with precision measurement, technical inspection, failure analysis and 5S methodologies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations, production output and workflow efficiency.
• Supervise, coach and support a small team of technical personnel.
• Oversee inspection, refurbishment and remanufacturing activities to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure WHS compliance and quality procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Coordinate stock levels, consumables, spare parts, deliveries and workshop supplies.
• Coordinate priorities with internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate operational records and support quality investigations.

Education
