Job summary

JLE Group in Newcastle, Australia, seeks an experienced Workshop Electrician to join the Manufacturing & Hire division. The hands-on role focuses on electrical fabrication, assembly, testing, and maintenance of industrial equipment, aiming to meet production targets while complying with AS/NZS standards.

You’ll work with mechanical fitters and project teams, ensuring safe, quality electrical work and supporting apprentices. The role offers secure workshop-based work in a stable facility.

Qualifications

• NSW Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent required.
• Current NSW Electrical Licence required.
• White Card and ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3760 standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, and install electrical components for manufactured plant and switchboards.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing plans.
• Perform workshop-based electrical installations on prefabricated structures and panels.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and document results.
• Perform functional and safety testing per AS/NZS standards.
• Maintain QA records and compliance documents.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on workshop equipment and plant components.
• Support continuous improvement of electrical processes in the workshop.
• Provide mentoring to apprentices when required.
