Job summary

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is seeking a skilled Waste Projects Leader to oversee planning and delivery of municipal waste initiatives. You will guide a customer-focused team, ensure alignment with the Waste Strategy, and monitor emerging trends affecting NSW planning requirements.

The role requires qualifications in Waste Management, Project Management, or Environmental Management and proven experience in delivering complex projects with strong communication skills.

• Strong knowledge of waste minimisation and planning legislation.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Waste Projects and Planning team, fostering a positive, engaged and customer-focused environment.
• Plan, deliver and review projects aligned with Council’s Waste Strategy and monitor trends.
• Provide strategic advice and prepare reports for stakeholders and internal teams.
