Job summary

Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd in Victoria is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to lead long-term mine planning and underground design for the Sunday Creek project. You will drive life-of-mine scheduling, contribute to PFS/FS-level studies, and mentor junior engineers.

Based in Clonbinane VIC, the role offers a permanent, full-time position in a collaborative Technical Services team with a focus on safe, efficient development of an underground operation and strong growth

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive underground hard rock mining experience, ideally in sub-level stoping operations.
• Demonstrated experience in long-term planning, life-of-mine scheduling and technical studies
• High proficiency in Deswik or equivalent mine planning software
• Experience with ventilation and/or paste-fill design considerations (desirable)
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• Effective planning, organisation and time-management abilities
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Lead long-term mine planning, scheduling and technical studies.
• Develop annual, quarterly and life-of-mine mine plans.
• Support for PFS and FS-level studies.
• Mine design and production optimisation initiatives.
• Drill and blast design, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical input into ventilation and mine infrastructure planning.
• Budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation activities.
• Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, survey, environmental and operations teams.
• Communicate plans, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop Mining Engineers and graduates.
