Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to join the Federation Mine team. This hands-on leadership role supervises underground electrical maintenance, ensures equipment reliability and supports safe, efficient operations.

Working closely with site leaders, you will coordinate daily activities, mentor apprentices, and drive a strong safety culture across the operation. FIFO & DIDO options on offer, roster 2/2.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Qualification (essential).
• Current Electrical Licence.
• Previous underground mining experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or Leading Hand experience.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with underground mobile plant and fixed infrastructure.
• Sound understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to work a 2/2 roster including day and night shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground electrical maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Maintain and repair underground mobile and fixed plant electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and site standards.
• Allocate daily work tasks and monitor team performance.
• Complete maintenance reports, inspections, and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Assist in mentoring and developing apprentice and junior electricians.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to site procedures.
