Job summary

Resources Safety and Health Queensland is seeking a coal mining professional to help educate, inform and regulate mine safety at Queensland coal mines. As an Inspector of Mines, you will provide technical advice on a range of mining safety and health matters to industry, the government, and the community - in particular, on aspects relating to mining operations at underground coal mines.

Essential qualifications include a Queensland Third Class Certificate of Competency for underground coal

Qualifications

• Essential Queensland Third Class Certificate of Competency for underground coal mines (or eligible to sit Second-Class).
• Second-Class Certificate of Competency eligible to sit First Class Mine Managers Certificate is highly regarded.
• First Class Mine Managers Certificate or equivalent recognised in Queensland ideal qualification.
• Site Senior Executive Notice or mining degree recognised by Board of Examiners highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior technical or operational position at an underground coal mine highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on mining safety and health matters to industry, the government, and the community.
• Educate, inform and regulate mine safety at Queensland coal mines, with emphasis on underground coal operations.
