Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) Avon Downs is seeking a Head Stockperson to lead daily feeder yard operations and a small team. You will ensure livestock are managed safely and efficiently, aligning with best practice animal welfare standards and robust biosecurity measures.

You will drive rostering, training, and safety practices while coordinating feed logistics and machinery operations to support high standards of livestock performance and team development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading daily feeder yard operations and a small team.
• Strong focus on animal welfare, safety, and biosecurity.
• Ability to coordinate feed logistics, roster planning and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with stock handling and low-stress stock management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily feeder yard operations, including livestock handling, pen riding, feeding, water supply and dispatch.
• Ensure animal welfare through monitoring pen conditions, health protocols, hygiene and biosecurity.
• Build a strong safety culture with inductions, PPE use and risk management.
• Manage and develop a small team with hands-on training and clear communication.
• Coordinate feed logistics, commodity movements and accurate record-keeping.
• Oversee machinery use and maintenance for tractors, mixers and loaders.
