Job summary

Economic Development Queensland – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Specialist statutory planning professional to assess development applications within Priority Development Areas, providing complex land use planning advice and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

You will prepare and present high-quality written information and reports, engage with government and industry partners, and drive process improvements and mentoring within the planning team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in statutory land use planning and development assessment.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland planning legislation and policies.
• Proven ability to provide specialist advice on complex planning matters.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Collaborative, client-focused and outcomes-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist statutory land use planning advice to facilitate outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality written information, briefings and reports.
• Engage stakeholders to enable timely planning outcomes.
• Design and implement communication and negotiation strategies.
• Assess and make recommendations on planning matters.
• Prepare advice under relevant acts and policy instruments.
• Develop business processes improvements.
• Coach colleagues and promote knowledge sharing.
• Foster multidisciplinary collaboration.
