Job summary

RAC WA in Western Australia is seeking a driven Lead Specialist – Motor Claims to support the Team Leader in guiding a Motor Claims team. You will coach, develop and lead with empathy to deliver professional, efficient service when members need it most.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and experience with motor claims. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, drive improvements, and balance member outcomes with cost-effective repairs.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in an operational environment.
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex processes clearly.
• Empathy, resilience and discretion when supporting members.
• Thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced claims environment.
• Experience in insurance claims handling, ideally motor claims.
• Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a motivated Lead Specialist – Motor Claims to join our Insurance division. In this role, you’ll support the Team Leader to guide and coach a team of Motor Claims Specialists, ensuring our members receive professional, compassionate, and efficient service when they need it most.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the Team Leader to coach and develop the Motor Claims team, ensuring consistent and fair claim outcomes.
• Handle complex motor claims, providing tailored support to members throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Deliver high-quality service that balances empathy with operational performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance both member experience and claims efficiency.
• Support team performance by providing feedback, insights, and recommendations.
