Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Sydney seeks a Lead Software Engineer within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) – Securities Services Technology. You will be a core technical contributor and team leader, delivering trusted market-leading technology in a secure, scalable environment.

You will design, develop, and mentor peers while driving AI-assisted engineering practices, CI/CD, and secure coding standards across multiple technical areas and business functions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, notably Java/J2EE; experience with database querying languages.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.
• Knowledge of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures.
• Deep knowledge of the financial services IT landscape.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions including design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and maintains services across systems.
• Produces and maintains architecture/design artifacts ensuring security, resiliency, performance and scalability.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices and validation standards.
• Applies SDLC/CI-CD tools to increase value from automation and observability.
• Identifies issues and automates remediation to improve stability of applications.
• Gathers and analyzes data, creating visuals/reports for continuous improvement.
• Mentors engineers and promotes diversity, inclusion, and respect.
