Job summary

NSW Health at Westmead Hospital is seeking a Social Worker Level 3 for a temporary part-time role in the Cancer and Chronic Care Team. You will deliver high-level psychosocial care for complex patients and families, lead clinical practice and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

You will join a supportive MDT, participate in after-hours crisis on-call work and pursue ongoing professional development with university partnerships and structured supervision.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of psychosocial issues associated with rehabilitation medicine and illness adjustment.
• Experience supervising staff and students.
• Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with report writing skills.
• Ability to engage constructively with diverse stakeholders across all levels.
• Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of psychosocial care to patients and families in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
• Work within the Cancer and Chronic Care Team across Oncology, Palliative Care, Haematology and related services.
• Lead clinical practice, education and service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service and training activities.
