Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne is seeking a Fixed Term (12 month) part-time Social Worker to provide expert psychosocial assessment and intervention for patients and families. You will work within the Banksia inpatient mental health unit and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve timely access to supports both within the hospital and in the community.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for membership of AASW and meet AASW CPE accreditation standards
• Extensive experience in Social Work with clinical leadership
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, grief and loss in vulnerable children
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and articulate the social work role
• Includes some out-of-hours on-call social work service to the hospital

Responsabilités

• Provide expert psychosocial assessment and intervention to patients and families
• Lead and contribute to timely decision making, transition or discharge planning and referrals to community providers
• Support vulnerable young people and families in crisis including trauma, violence and grief
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the Social Work Department
