Job summary

PADI in Byron Bay is seeking a skilled and confident skipper to take charge of our vessels, safely navigating local conditions while delivering unforgettable experiences on our snorkeling, dive, and whale-watching charters.

You will command and operate vessels, lead tours, perform maintenance, and uphold rigorous safety procedures; the role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently within a tourism-focused team.

Qualifications

• Current Coxswain NC 1 or higher is required.
• Experience in marine tourism with snorkeling and diving is preferred.
• Ability to read ocean surf and navigate surf zones confidently.
• Experience with beach launches and operating in surf conditions.
• Strong safety management and passenger safety focus.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Command and operate vessels safely in varied sea conditions.
• Lead snorkeling, scuba diving, and whale-watching charters.
• Deliver memorable guest experiences with vessel control.
• Uphold safety procedures to protect passengers and crew.
