Job summary

SA Pathology is seeking a Section Supervisor Metabolic Medical Scientist to lead the Metabolic Unit at Frome Road, Adelaide. You will oversee complex tests, provide advice on analytical methods and guide scientific, technical and operational staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

You will coordinate workflows, monitor performance and contribute to teaching and research, while maintaining safety and accreditation standards in a collaborative public healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Hold a medical science qualification meeting NPAAC requirements.
• Apply HPLC and/or mass spectrometry analytical expertise.
• Supervise staff, manage workloads and support team learning.
• Maintain quality systems and laboratory accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform and evaluate routine and complex tests and advise on analytical techniques.
• Coordinate workflows, monitor laboratory performance and safety standards.
• Develop and introduce new methods; support equipment selection and troubleshooting.
• Train staff and contribute to teaching, research and strategic direction.
