Job summary

Geelong Grammar School's Timbertop Health Centre seeks a Nurse Unit Manager to lead nursing and allied staff, delivering emergency nursing, pastoral care and student wellbeing in a remote boarding campus. You will coordinate clinical services and staff, ensuring high standards of care and a supportive environment for students and staff.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise rosters, manage medications, and liaise with doctors, physiotherapists and welfare staff, reporting to campus

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant professional body.
• Experience in a nursing leadership or management role.
• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of contemporary healthcare practices.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Ability to thrive in a remote, residential school setting

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Timbertop Health Centre and ensure compliance with policy and regulations.
• Supervise nursing and support staff, maintain rosters and training needs.
• Ensure nursing staff assess and manage illness, injuries and accidents.
• Provide regular updates and reports to campus leadership on student health and wellbeing.
• Order, store, monitor and administer medications and medical supplies.
• Refer students to doctors, physio, counsellors and allied health professionals as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and ensure confidentiality.
• Comply with OH&S regulations in work practices and environment.
