Job summary

Macquarie University Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead Registered Nurse to head a small nursing team in Medical Imaging, delivering care across CT, MRI and interventional imaging. The role combines clinical leadership with hands-on nursing in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold current AHPRA registration with 5+ years post-graduate experience and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and collaboration with radiographers, radiologists and admin staff.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registered nurse with ≥5 years post-grad experience.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a small nursing team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration.
• Cannulation and Port-a-Cath proficiency.
• Experience in radiology or nuclear medicine desirable; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and procedural prep per standards.
• Support radiographers and radiologists during CT, MRI, nuclear medicine.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a small nursing team.
• Inform and reassure patients about imaging procedures.
