Job summary

Cobdenhealth in Cobden, Victoria is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead resident care using a problem-solving approach in line with Aged Care Act and standards. The RN provides direct care, mentors junior staff, and coordinates with health professionals to ensure high-quality outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities include admissions, care planning, and after-hours leadership, with a focus on safety and continuous quality improvement. AHPRA registration and NDIS screening are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) is required.
• Current AHPRA registration and practising certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years post-registration nursing experience.
• Current and satisfactory NDIS screening check.
• Strong clinical knowledge in age-related health issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Director of Care to provide quality nursing services per policy.
• Admit and assess new residents; develop interim care plans.
• Support residents and families with clinical needs and concerns.
• Assess and review complex care plans, including palliative care.
• Review plans with GP and families and adjust as needed.
• Manage clinical needs in a professional, timely manner.
• Handle emergencies and injuries in consultation with care leaders.
• Advise and support Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care staff.
• Coordinate with external health professionals as required.
• In the Director’s absence, ensure service continuity and safety.
