Job summary

Sydney Water is seeking a Principal Reliability Engineer to lead reliability modelling and strategic asset performance across water systems. Based at Potts Hill and Parramatta with hybrid working options, the role focuses on cost, risk and performance throughout the asset lifecycle.

You will develop and apply reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety models, coach teams, and drive data-driven improvements in asset management practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or similar).
• 6+ years in complex asset management, preferably water/wastewater.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability modelling and assessment with data analysis and predictive analytics.
• Identify performance gaps in asset and system performance.
• Develop asset class and system performance requirements using PCaR.
• Introduce reliability maintenance techniques and set engineering standards.
• Assess system reliability and data quality; identify failure risks.
• Lead root cause analysis and coordinate external technical expertise.
