Seqwater in Brisbane invites applications for a Principal Regulation to provide expert regulatory and economic advice, lead robust regulatory models, submissions, governance, and risk management, guiding resources to deliver safe, efficient water services.

You will engage with regulators, design cost-of-service and pricing strategies, manage complex modelling with Excel and Python or R, and lead specialist teams to strengthen governance and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Finance or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory economics, pricing, and regulatory submissions.
• Strong understanding of economic regulation principles, including cost-of-service models and revenue-cap methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead specialist teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Responsabilités

• Lead regulatory strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation, determinations and pricing frameworks.
• Oversee economic and financial modelling, including tariff design and cost allocation.
• Provide expert regulatory and economic advice to inform investment, pricing and strategy.
• Manage and deliver regulatory submissions, including price paths and supporting evidence.
• Identify and mitigate regulatory risks while strengthening governance and continuous improvement.
