Job summary

John Holland is recruiting a Signalling Project Engineer for the Illabo to Stockinbingal Inland Rail project based in Cootamundra. The role leads engineering activities, manages planning, forecasting, safety and compliance, and oversees subcontractors to support construction delivery on a major national infrastructure program.

The successful candidate will bring rail signalling expertise, project delivery experience, and a collaborative approach to ensure quality and timely outcomes on site.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction or Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years engineering experience.
• Experience in rail environment with signalling systems.
• Project Engineer and operational experience.
• Understanding of project management plans and design/QA safety documents.
• Pre-contracts knowledge related to design, planning and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to assist with scope delivery and cost forecasting.
• Assist engineering team to achieve approvals where required.
• Prepare short- and long-term detailed construction plans and targets.
• Coordinate time management and sequencing of work and resources.
• Provide reports to the Signalling Construction Manager for monthly timelines.
• Lead QA & safety documentation to achieve handover.
• Manage subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
• Support the Superintendent and Site Engineers with permits, applications and related information.
