Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking a capable and driven Lead Project Engineer to support the successful execution of a major gas turbine power station project in Queensland.

This leadership role drives delivery across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, with an on-site 2:1 roster during execution. The position will initially be based in the project office before transitioning to site.

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years' experience delivering major construction projects within power generation, energy, oil & gas, mining or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in Lead Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer or similar project delivery leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery and multidisciplinary construction environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale energy infrastructure projects highly regarded
  • Engineering degree qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project risks, variations and delivery challenges
  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to coordinate diverse project teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality and delivering successful project outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure safe and successful project delivery
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project scopes, ensuring engineering deliverables support efficient construction outcomes
  • Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, quality, project controls, commercial and construction teams
  • Support project planning, forecasting, progress reporting and execution strategies
  • Manage technical queries, design changes, construction issues and stakeholder requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements and HSE expectations
  • Lead client and contractor interface meetings and provide regular project reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Drive construction readiness, commissioning planning and project close-out activities
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers within the project team
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

Job description

Monadelphous is seeking a capable and driven Lead Project Engineer to support the successful execution of a major gas turbine power station project in Queensland.

This is a key leadership role supporting the delivery of a large-scale power generation project, encompassing multidisciplinary construction scopes and complex stakeholder interfaces. The position will initially be based in the project office before transitioning to site on a 2:1 roster during the execution phase.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of engineering and construction delivery activities on a significant energy infrastructure project, while working alongside experienced project leaders and contributing to a high-performing team culture.
