Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC in Geelong is seeking a Senior Prison Officer to lead custodial teams at Barwon Prison. You will mentor prison officers, manage day-to-day operations, and oversee case management for complex offenders.

Ideal candidates show proven leadership in corrections, experience with offender management, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation. A full driver’s licence and pre-service training are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment.
• Commitment to working with staff, prisoners, and other service providers to reduce re-offending.
• Experience and skill in areas relevant to Correctional Delivery or statutory environment, management of staff and offender case management.
• Knowledge of, and the ability to apply relevant legislation, policy and procedure relating to Corrections Victoria and the management of its prison facilities.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software.
