Job summary

Middleton Group in Melbourne seeks a Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead its Grid Connection team and deliver renewable and hybrid projects across Australia. You will perform advanced power systems studies and provide technical leadership on generator connections for solar, wind and BESS.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, mentor staff, and engage with high-level customers while shaping long-term planning and project budgets within a values-driven, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and at least 10 years relevant experience.
• Specialist knowledge of generator connection process in Australia (Chapter 5 & 5A).
• Proficient in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS®E.

Responsibilities

• Lead Major Projects: manage a portfolio of grid connections from planning to execution.
• Provide Technical Expertise: perform steady-state and dynamic power system studies.
• Drive Strategic Impact: oversee long-term planning, budgets, and results.
• Mentor & Guide: share knowledge across teams and engage with customers.
