AEMO, Australia’s independent energy system and market operator, is seeking a Specialist Engineer to lead power system analysis and modelling in Victoria. You will develop innovative methodologies, assess future needs, and provide expert technical advice to inform network investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Deep expertise in power system design, operation, and analysis, including power system dynamics, stability assessment, and renewable energy integration.
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard power system simulation and modelling tools, such as PSSE, PSCAD, and PLEXOS.
• Strong knowledge of electricity transmission, distribution, generation, system restoration, and the operation of power and energy markets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects, deliver high-quality analysis, and produce clear, evidence-based technical reports and recommendations.
• Proven stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across industry, government, and technical teams.
